Gabriola Fire Fighters Join CUPE
Fire fighters on Gabriola Island have joined CUPE Local 606. The move brings stronger representation, protections, and bargaining rights to 16 front-line responders. CUPE BC welcomed them as part of Canada’s largest union for public-sector workers.
2025 Retirement Reception

CUPE 606 Bargaining Proposal Vote April 28
CUPE 606 K–12 members are invited to vote on the 2025 bargaining proposal at Beban Park on April 28. Voting runs from 1–6 p.m., with presentations at 1:00 and 4:30 p.m. The proposal will guide the union's position at the local table.
Bursary Application 2025
CUPE Local 606 has four bursaries of $ 1,000.00 to award in 2025 and these include the Linda McCourt Memorial Bursary. These bursaries are awarded to children or grandchildren of Local 606 active members. The deadline for submissions is May 28th, 2025.
